Im considering plastic surgery..?
I know im only 16 but i'm really thinking about it for when im older. Im scared of the ricks and the costs and if i'll regret it but here it is.. I feel like my face looks like two people. One from the from and one from the side. I like what I look like from the front and my friends and some boys say im pretty BUT from the side i LOOK AWFUL. I have the worst ski slope nose ever thats kinda turned up and chin that reclines and is ugly. I try avoiding looking at myself from the side but im concious about people looking at me from the side. I hate it when they do and I hate having to pass people if they'd see my profile. Im really not vain as you might think from my pictures! I really don't know if I should get it when im older what do you think? - dont do it.
- Why do you want to be perfect by being modified. Every flaws you have makes you unique and beautiful, which is a natural perfection in it self. You might get severe complications after the surgery or might not always end up the way you want it xxxx
- Everyone's face looks different full on than in profile, that's why it's called a "good side." Don't get plastic surgery and ruin your face because of that, you're pretty as you are. From the side AND from the front.
- If you need plastic surgery then we are in trouble
- you look ok either way, but nobody can stop you once you hit 18 and have the money.
- dont be so silly! ur bloody beautiful! hate to sound patronising but ur young and u will grow outta it
- Well, I think you look great! don't do anything rash!
- I don't think you need cosmetic surgery...you look very pretty. Why risk what you have because some of the horror stories out there would make you shudder
- Girl we All look different from each side...No one is completey symetrical...You are BEAUTIFUL! you so don't need surgery at all!!!
- My boyfriend's step mom had the same profile, and she is MUCH older than you, and had plenty of time to really think about getting the surgery. She had a chin implant, and got a nose job to fix the ridge of her nose. Definitely a noticeable difference. You're very pretty, so I don't think it's worth the trouble ;-)
- You really have to be careful with surgery, it's addicting and if it isn't really a problem, you shouldn't bother. Of course, the choice is ultimetly yours. You look better than I do. My cheeks are sooo chubby. Even though my boyfriend calls them cute, I really don't think so. Also, it can be pretty expensive. Of course, if you come from a wealthy family, it's not horrible.
- You're imagining things! There's nothing at all wrong with your profile, and nose. Plastic surgery is expensive, and it has risks. No need to go thru all that when you already look good. Work on ways to improve your own confidence, rather than waste time worrying about your looks.
- No way! You look just as good from the side! I hope this is just a phase you'll grow out of.
- believe me hun u have a lovely nose... i'd kill for your nose, mines got a big old hook in it. i personally think u are beautiful, and i'm not just saying that. from both angles there is nothin wrong with u, i dont even see what u see, no ski slop nose and no turned up chin. since your self conciouce about this u focus on these things which makes it seem so much more promient to u. but no one else sees it, your gorgouse and i would suggest not doing it, be proud of who u are, every feature in your face is a representage of your family and heritage and thats somethin to be proud of :)
- Ok, I'm going to be perfectly honest here. You are extremely attractive from all angles and the only thing that is wrong with you is your brain! You absolutely DO NOT need plastic surgery. You do not have to believe me but I think you are mad to want to alter the beauty God has given you.
- Show off your profile with pride, and to heck with anyone who doesn't like it. Real friends won't notice.
- OK. I'm going to answer this question truthfully. I am a plastic surgeon and, therefore, know something about this. My first advice is to listen to what everyone is saying about being happy with yourself. However, I appreciate that this is not possible for everyone, and no amount of psychotherapy is going to change that. Having said that, it is very important to speak to a psychologist before any imending plastic surgery, and I never perform cosmetic procedures without my patients seeing my psychologist (it doesn't mean you're mad, it just helps to talk to someone about exactly what you are unhappy with). For example, your nose is wonderful. If a plastic surgeon says otherwise, he's trying to take your money. However, you are not happy with it. That immediately begs the question - will you be happy with your operated nose? Possibly not. This is what the psychologist helps with. Here 's the real stinger, and what I'm sure people will ignorantly mark me down for - you are right in that you have a retrognathic chin. That is, your chin is very slightly recessed backwards in relation to the rest of your face. I still think you are attractive, but you asked for an opinion and here it is.There are various options for this. Chin implants are extremely good, and give you more forward definition, but they mean having a foreign material in your face, which can be an infection risk (much like breast implants). The best option for you would be a 'sliding genioplasty' - tilting the point of your chin bone forward to give it a better profile. At 16, your face has stopped growing sufficiently for this surgery to be safely undertaken. It involves a small scar in the crease under your chin and one overnight stay in hospital. Again, I do not advocate surgery before talking to a psychologist, and most good plastic surgeons should have one as part of their practice. It is all very well for people to tell you to be happy about yourself, but if you truly are not, why should you suffer when there are things that can be done?
